Our professional search dogs – operational and in training

Detection dogs for your field of operation — Searchdogs Europe

For quite some time now we have been handling several search dogs in various fields of operation. We currently have fully trained dogs for rodent detection in supermarkets and food warehouses. Our dogs have already helped successfully on many occasions when pest controllers could not make further progress, and they are also booked by very large food companies. We work closely with the pest control company operating on site. Our dogs are used specifically to find the entry points and nests of rodents, enabling targeted and successful control.

However, it is easily possible to train search dogs for your specific target within a short time; training additional new targets takes only 2–3 weeks.

Training on specific bacterial or other contaminants is no problem either.

Detection dogs for the food industry and rodent detection

Rats and mice in supermarkets, food warehouses or hotels are a serious hygiene problem. Our rodent detection dogs find entry points and nests – even where traps and bait no longer help. This allows pest control to target the problem precisely instead of treating large areas on suspicion.

  • New target odours can easily be trained in 2–3 weeks.

Professional search dog training: service dogs for police and authorities

Under the name Searchdogs Europe we train detection dogs and mantrailing dogs for law enforcement, government agencies and other professional fields – with over 20 years of professional training and operational experience. Training takes place in real operational environments, not under laboratory conditions. Every trained service dog comes with all papers and certificates required for export/import, one week of handler training and one year of free advice and consultation.

Explosives detection dogs

Our explosives detection dogs are trained on 7 different substances and search rooms, large event venues, vehicles, luggage and open fields, both off lead and on lead, with a passive alert.

Narcotics detection dogs, data storage detection dogs, other disciplines

Given sufficient preparation time, we can train a dog suitable for your purposes or lay the first foundations for its later training.

Cadaver dogs (human remains detection dogs)

Our dogs are trained on clandestine grave search and recovery support, surface and elevated human remains location, and vehicle and item screening for contact with human decomposition.

This can easily be combined with the blood detection described below.

Blood detection dogs

Human blood detection at scenes, in vehicles and on property.

For the training of cadaver and blood detection dogs we work together with one of the internationally leading specialists in this field, based in the UK:

Mantrailing / scent discrimination dogs

Our trailing dogs search for the start of a trail, stay on the trail even under distraction, differentiate between old and new trails and give a reliable negative indication when there is no trail.

What detection dogs can do

It has been proven many times that dogs are faster and more reliable than humans and even technical devices in many fields — whether in detecting animal species, finding unwanted animals and their hiding places in hotels and warehouses, or in the microbiological and medical field.

Training your own detection dog

We can either train you together with your own dog on the target scent of your choice, or train a dog for your desired field which you then take over from us — this also includes a thorough introduction for you to working with that particular dog.

Currently available:
